Massage Modalities

Deep Tissue

Involves applying firm pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It helps bring blood flow to the area to reduce tension in muscles and tissue. In addition, it can help break up scar tissue that forms following an injury.

Ideal for clients with chronic pain, muscle injury and overuse, sports-related injuries, and for clients that prefer deeper pressure.

Swedish

This classic relaxation massage works muscles more superficially, using long gliding strokes and kneading to ease tension and help relax the muscles. It also helps boost blood circulation throughout the body.

Ideal to relieve light to moderate tension and put you into a state of complete relaxation.

Myofascial

Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/ or surgical procedures can create myofascial restrictions, by causing the gel-like substance in the connective tissue to harden. By applying gentle sustained pressure to these areas you can soften the fascia to help restore it to a more healthy state. This treatment is performed directly on the skin without the use of oils/ creams so the therapist can accurately find fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure, which can often take 3-5 minutes or longer in a targeted area.

Ideal for clients who have experienced trauma or have consistent pain patterns that are not relieved with other types of bodywork. This work can also be helpful for clients with migraines, neck pain, and TMJ issues.

*Not a full-body massage. It can be an add-on to a massage or a full session depending on the client’s needs.

*Clients should come with a pair of shorts, and for women also a tank top or sports bra.

Myoskeletal

Focused on detecting and correcting strain patterns to alleviate neck and back pain. It combines deep tissue with mobilization, assisted stretching, and non-force spinal alignment. Along with contract and relax techniques that make the nervous system less threatened by movement, allowing the body to return to a more normal state.

Beneficial for chronic pain, increasing range of motion, and realigning your body.

* Many of these techniques can be combined with any type of massage and are often added to Thai massage.

Thai Massage

This style of bodywork is traditionally performed on a mat that is on the floor. The client will remain fully clothed in comfortable clothing that allows free movement, as you will be moved into a range of yoga-like poses and passive stretches. During the session, you’ll experience acupressure, joint mobilization, muscle compression, and gentle rocking that help relieve stress and tension in joints and muscles which relaxes the nervous system. You can also expect the therapist to use their feet, knees, and elbows which allows them to give much deeper pressure.

Beneficial for low back pain, tense neck & shoulders, improved flexibility, and increased range of motion. It’s known to reduce stress, help balance & increase energy in the body, and improve blood circulation. Also, a great substitute for clients who enjoy sports massage.

*Please come dressed in comfortable/ loose-fitted clothing.
